Vincent van Gogh

Vincent van Gogh was born in 1853 and grew up in Holland. Initially he was successful and happy with his artwork, however he soon became tired of the study of art. At the age of 28 he fell in love and got his heart broken, which is when he began painting. The following few years resulted in little success in both love and art.

Painted in 1885 "Potato Eaters" was van Gogh's first major piece, his goal was to paint human figures that did not appear to be awkward but existing naturally. The next year he moved to Paris where he took on a style that would soon make him famous, using vivid colors and large brushstrokes.
When Vincent painted "Sunflowers" it was a very productive and creative period in his life, but also it began a time of many hospital visits due to mental illness and physical decline. After years of painting, creating about 900 pieces of work, Vincent van Gogh took his own life in 1890.
Starry Night by Van Gogh
Starry Night is also a very well known painting of his.

In this scene from Alice in Wonderland it shows the great images, choreography, makeup, and costumes used in the movie. I personally am influenced by this because it is so unique and I like to be unique with my art and put deeper meaning behind it.
